TEK4 produces many special projects to meet customers specific requirements. These include refurbished machines with special tooling, enabling expensive machines to have life extensions by upgrading them to current process technology capability.

A cost effective solution of adapting a machine to carry 5 fixtures and 5 multi electrode tooling packages enables the component to be “walked” through its five operations, eliminating tool set up times and avoiding costly complex machine systems.

TEK4 has developed several 5 axis grinding machines using CBN grinding technology. The machines have been developed around proprietary milling machines that have been modified to include the following items: TEK4 rugged tilt turn table, CNC Programmable radial coolant nozzle and high pressure coolant systems.

TEK4 has produced complete “Turn key” EDM cells for seal slot manufacture in industrial gas turbine components. This cell included a modified CNC milling machine for machining the graphite electrodes, using a wet process that eliminates the dust and dirt normally associated with electrode manufacture. The electrodes go straight from the milling machine into the EDM machine, position adjustments are made in the electrode rather than the EDM machine.
